French Michelin tour day 3: six-star day

We started the day by having breakfast at Dalloyau on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, just a short walk from our hotel. It's my favorite salon de thé in Paris, so I was very, very happy.

It's a day on the islands, and we started at Sainte-Chapelle, which is my favorite church in Paris. The reason? those absolutely stunning stained glass windows of Chapelle Haute, where the royal family used to worship. There are 15 panels in all in addition to the rose window.

Next stop was the Conciergerie, which was where Marie Antoinette had been held.

For lunch we went to Ledoyen, which has three Michelin stars. The setting is pretty and the view of the greenery is nice. I ordered à la carte instead of taking the menu dejeuner.

Les mousserons

L'agneau

No wine for lunch today. Must say... wasn't that impressed with the food here. It's clearly a very business-oriented crowd.

After lunch we strolled to the Left Bank and walked around Saint Germain... and even checked out Sabbia Rosa - although we left empty-handed. Had a drink at Dalloyau and strolled around in Jardin du Luxembourg, my favorite garden in Paris.

Went back for some more shopping and hit Hediard in Place de la Madeleine, as it's my favorite place to shop for fruity infusions and other goodies.

Dinner tonight was at Restaurant Guy Savoy, which had just been promoted to three stars.

This was an amazing experience from the start, where the sommelier matched the bread with the wine I chose! I'd never seen that before.

Huîtres en nage glacée

Homard breton, saveurs de Condrieu

And a grapefruit dessert to finish.
