French Michelin tour day 4: drinking in Champagne

Took a morning train from Gare de l'Est in Paris to Reims. It was too early to check in to Holiday Inn Express so we got some croissants for breakfast nearby.

We visited the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims. What a beautiful place! I absolutely fell in love with the stained glass windows from Marc Chagall. They were just so blue and beautiful!

Lunch was at Restaurant Le Vigneron, which was profiled in Wine Spectator. I took a glass of Champagne, but the best thing about lunch was that I got to have andouillette!! I was so, soooo happy!

Visited the house of Taittinger for a tour after lunch. Very interesting.

Also visited Basilique Saint-Remi, where Clovis I was reputed to have been baptized.

Dinner was at Les Crayères at Hôtel Les Crayères. Gerard Boyer is the chef here.

Œufs brouilles au caviar

Homard girolles - this was so interesting and delicious.

Fraises et sorbet au muguet

1995 Gosset Celebris

This was a delicious meal, and everything was about half the price of a 3-star in Paris. Such a good deal!
