I received a gift during lunch yesterday. It came in a rectacular cardboard box, which contained a Ziploc bag. Inside the bag was something wrapped in tin foil. I was told to heat up the contents before consuming.
I unwrapped the tin foil this morning to reveal the slice of leek and Fourme d'Ambert quiche. After a few minutes in my little toaster oven, my breakfast was ready!
Well...it's not everyday that I get to have blue cheese for breakfast. I do love quiche, and this particular creation (from a recipe from Thomas Keller's Bouchon, with a "minor" substitution) was very interesting. The saltiness of the blue cheese was very obvious. Perhaps a tad heavy for breakfast...
I am grateful for the visit from the quiche fairies (aka the elves...)
