Destination wedding Bali day 3: lunch and go

A lazy morning after a late night of partying.  Hung out in the villa cabana and surfed the net, while I waited for lunch time to roll around.  My two-day stay in beautiful, sunny Bali is coming to an end.

I head back to the Warung for lunch, and take in the wonderful view of the deep blue sky.  I enjoy the last few moments I have at the Alila Villas Uluwatu.

Once again I was served congklak to start, and I relish in mixing and matching all the condiments again.  I just can't seem to get enough of this...

Sayur campur Bali - I wanted some veggies to start, and chose this most typically local dish.  I'm always happy having something like this - simple and good.

Semur Iidah - I never realized that the Balinese ate beef tongue… in fact it's a little surprising given that the culture is Hindu…  Oh well, I guess I'm no expert on Balinese culture, and I've been proven wrong about Indians not eating beef before...  I wanted to see how they cooked it, and I thought the sweet nutmeg sauce was OK but not that special.  A little surprised about the potato cubes.   Overall, though, the dish was still enjoyable.

Once again too full for dessert, I check out of the hotel and head to the airport.  Only 49 hours in Bali…just ain't enough.  I'll need to come back again, soon.

  1. There are so many delicious dishes you miss out in Bali. Lots of good things there. Go plan a two weeks holiday. You won't be disappointed.

  2. Thanks for your suggestion. I've done many trips to Bali, so I've been to quite a few places and enjoyed the food.

If only I could spend 2 weeks in Bali... That would be wonderful.
