Mom's HK Michelin tour day 8: truffle pizza

It's the Parental Units' last full day in Hong Kong, so I needed to make sure they get all the good stuff in before they leave. Since the main reason for the trip was to get some white truffle, I decided to do one last meal where there would be lots of the white diamonds. There is one dish where one can be sure of having tons of white truffle shaved on top, and I just had to come back to CIAK - In the Kitchen for it.

For today's meals, we are joined by My Favorite Cousin as she is now able to dine out after the end of her medical observation period. The Parental Units haven't seen her in a few years, so this was a good opportunity for them to catch up.

Seasonal mixed green salad | Datterino tomatoes, shallot, balsamic vinaigrette - mom figured she should start with a simple salad, and shared it with us.

CIAK scrambled eggs | Italian organic scrambled eggs, Alba white truffle - this wasn't necessary in terms of the amount of food, but I wanted another dish to carry more white truffle for mom and dad. They ended up stuffing this down between the two of them...

Italian veal tripe | stewed with tomato, onions, Parmesan cheese - I usually don't pass up any opportunity to have trippa, so I was pretty happy with this.

CIAK tartufo bianco | Mozzarella, Taleggio cheese, Alba white truffle - BABY, THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR! Mom was pretty amazed at the amount of white truffle shaved on top, and I was happy to have another taste of this after first trying it a few years ago.

Pizza bufala | tomato sauce, fresh buffalo Mozzarella and basil - love how fresh and tasty the cheese was, but I shouldn't have ordered a second pizza...

Homemade classic sausage | roasted potatoes and portobello mushroom - I guess dad needed some meat, so this is what he asked for. At least he didn't order a steak... Pretty decent.

Mom was pretty happy to see My Favorite Cousin, and grateful for another opportunity to have white truffle. I'm pretty sure there aren't many places serving up truffle pizza in Taipei!
