I woke up much too early this morning, especially given I had gone to bed very late and for a second night in a row. I had no plans today until dinner, so I greeted my hosts and hung out at home after they all left for their busy daily routines.
I didn't have to go out to get breakfast, since I have this onigiri (おにぎり) made with the leftover rice from last night's dinner at Tempura Motoyoshi (天ぷら 元吉). This was pretty tasty and made me happy.
I wanted to stick to the neighborhood today, so I did a little search to find a casual place for lunch. The honten of Grill Manten-Boshi (グリル満天星) happens to be in Azabujuban (麻布十番), so it was a very short walk away. I figured I needed a hit of yoshoku (洋食) on this trip.
I couldn't decide on any one item that I wanted, so I ordered up their one plate mix (ワンプレートミックス) that allows me to pick two main course items... and then I added another extra!
First comes the consommé...
...then the salad.
Hamburg steak demi-glace and creamy crab croquette (ハンバーグステーキ ドゥミグラス と 蟹クリームコロッケ) - YASS!!! While I did have a pretty good hamburg steak in Fukuoka last month, that only brought out the desire for more. And I really haven't had a decent Japanese croquette (コロッケ) in a long, long time...
The croquette was served with a tomato sauce.
The hamburg steak was plenty juicy, and the demi-glace was pretty good.
Mini ebi-fry (ミニ 海老フライ) - the third item I added. I miss having this at a yoshoku restaurant. Served with tartar sauce.
Dessert was matcha pudding (抹茶プリン) with azuki bean paste and whipped cream.
That was a very satisfying lunch. I decided to stroll around the neighborhood a little before returning to the pad for a much-needed nap. Got a big night ahead...
